Corpus Vitrearum Switzerland : The Swiss Stained Glass Panels of Saint Michael and Our Lady in Wragby
The parish church of Saint Michael and Our Lady in Wragby (West Yorkshire, UK) contains one of the most important ensembles of Swiss heraldic stained glass panels preserved outside Switzerland. Today, the collection consists of more than 500 single panels, which were installed in the 18 bays of the church in the 19th century. With a few exceptions, the stained glass panels originate from Switzerland and date between the 15th and 18th centuries. This inventory and publication project is planned as a collaboration between the Corpus Vitrearum Switzerland (represented by the Vitrocentre Romont as the National committee’s office) and the Corpus Vitrearum Great Britain.
